TOCA Football, the world’s first technology-enabled soccer experience company, has opened its biggest indoor soccer centre in Naperville, Illinois.

TOCA Naperville is set across 95,000 square feet and includes 18 state-of-the-art TOCA training studios. These are powered by TOCA Touch Trainers, TOCA Smart Targets and the TOCA Pathway Development Program.

In addition, the attraction features two indoor soccer fields and three futsal fields, which will host leagues and sports events all year. Later this year, TOCA Naperville will open Kids in Sports.

“We are thrilled to be opening TOCA Naperville and to serve the Chicago community with TOCA’s proprietary technologies and passion for soccer,” said Yoshi Maruyama, CEO of TOCA.

“We invite anyone and everyone to come play and create memorable moments at TOCA.”

“Chicago has a strong soccer culture and we plan on continuing that rich history with our highly coveted curriculum and small ball philosophy focusing on refining players’ strengths and improving all aspects of their game,” said Eddie Lewis, founder of TOCA.

TOCA is also opening the world’s first immersive, soccer-themed entertainment venue, TOCA Social, at the O2 in London in late 2021.

“We believe that the line between sport and entertainment has truly blurred,” Maruyama told Forbes. “Nobody goes to watch a sport anymore just to be a spectator, they want immersive experiences.”

“Our mission is to reimagine the soccer experience, and to bring the fun of playing soccer or football to everyone regardless of their abilities.”

Until recently, TOCA has focused on building soccer training centres across North America. However, Maruyama said TOCA Social will be “a gamified experience in soccer”.

TOCA Social is a new entertainment concept, built around accessible and interactive football-based games. There will be live events, gaming experiences and F&B.

“Our plan is to have multiple hundreds of TOCA branded centers, whether it be TOCA Social or TOCA Sport, throughout North America and Western Europe in the foreseeable future,” said Maruyama.

“I think people are hungry for experiences that really focus on the sport of football and soccer. And I believe there’s a massive opportunity for us to continue to grow.”
