Topgolf has revealed plans to open a vast technology-enabled golf experience in Massachusetts’ Greater Boston area in late 2023.
Construction on Topgolf‘s first venue in Massachusetts is underway in Canton. The new attraction will bring around 400 new jobs to the community.
The three-level location will be home to 90 hitting bays, each equipped with heaters, fans and the company’s Toptracer technology. This allows players to track their ball’s speed, distance and height.
In addition to golf games, the Boston outlet will feature F&B, music, a rooftop terrace, outdoor patio, and family-friendly programming.
Topgolf coming to Greater Boston area
“We get asked all the time when we’re bringing a Topgolf to the Boston area, so we couldn’t be happier to finally have an answer to that question,” said Topgolf’s chief development officer Chris Callaway.
“We’re thrilled at the opportunity to join the Canton community and can’t thank the town enough for their support along the way.”
Topgolf entertains more than 20 million players every year at 81 venues across the globe. Its first venue in Scotland, and fourth in the UK, is opening in Glasgow later this year.
“It’s with great excitement and pleasure that I welcome Topgolf to our community,” said Canton Select board chair John Connolly.

“This project will have a significant economic impact to the town of Canton through the creation of jobs and increased tax revenue to support our schools and municipal services, in addition to the environmental and aesthetic benefits of cleaning up a blighted site.
“It’s truly a ‘hole-in-one’ for Canton.”
Puttshack, from Topgolf founders Steve and Dave Jolliffe, has launched its fourth US venue in Miami. Flight Club, another competitive socialising concept, is also doubling its US footprint with three new outlets.
TOCA Football, billed as the Topgolf of soccer, has announced a partnership with Major League Soccer.
