Valo Motion, a pioneer in combining interactive technology with physical activities, has announced its latest innovation: ValoArena.
ValoArena is a mixed reality whole-body gaming attraction that allows up to six players to enjoy the experience together. It utilises the company’s cutting-edge camera technology, getting rid of the need for staff, headsets and hand-held controllers and bringing the fun of interactive gaming to physical activity.
First ValoArena is now open
Visitors to SuperPark, an indoor activity park in Vantaa, Finland, can now try the experience for themselves. Here, the ValoArena joins a variety of other attractions, such as a skate park, trampolines, disc golf, basketball and more.
Valo Motion is the creator of successful mixed reality systems ValoClimb and ValoJump. Its newest attraction has been created for activity parks and other indoor leisure or hospitality venues and is a straightforward option for operators as it does not need staff or wearables.
Up to six players can take part and there is currently a choice of three games. While players interact in the physical and virtual arena, their friends and family can also get involved as they watch the action from the sidelines.
Group fun
“The world is opening up again after two years of us being largely isolated in our own spaces,” says Raine Kajastila, CEO of Valo Motion. “With Valo Motion’s previous products we have learned that playing together with a group of friends is the most fun and rewarding way to be active.
“With ValoArena, we wanted to create a game platform that allows a bigger group to experience active games together. The pandemic has caused kids and teens to become less active at an alarming rate. We are hoping that the spirit of physical social gaming will further motivate people to get active and find new joy in exercising.”
Kirsi Ojakoski, country director at SuperPark Finland, adds:
“Valo Motion is really pushing the limits, and we are proud to be working with them. We believe that ValoArena will bring a “wow” experience to our new and existing visitors who we are looking forward to hosting and surprising. ValoClimb and ValoJump are still very much enjoyed by families, kids and groups.”
The next ValoArena will soon be completed in the Netherlands and the company is now offering the product to selected installation locations around the world and taking new orders for Q3 2022 onwards.
At the end of last year, Valo Motion celebrated a milestone: it has reached 100 years of total product usage. Adding together the overall amount of time that players have spent on its 700+ units across the globe, this adds up to a century of playing time.
