Virtuix, developer of the Omni virtual reality treadmill and Omni Arena esports attraction, has announced the opening of an Omni Arena at Andretti Indoor Karting & Games in Orlando, Florida.

Virtuix is pleased to announce that its innovative Omni Arena has been installed in another exciting venue in the US, Andretti Indoor Karting & Games in Orlando. The company has been rolling out the attraction to several venues across the country, including Dave & Buster’s, Sky Zone and FACE Amusement’s Rockin’ Raceway.

“We are thrilled to offer the Omni Arena experience to our guests in Orlando,” says Eddie Hamann, Andretti’s managing member. “Omni Arena is a groundbreaking attraction that takes virtual reality to the next level, allowing players to walk and run around inside popular video games. The attraction looks beautiful, and some of our guests play again and again thanks to its $100,000 esports prize pool.”

Competing for cash prizes

The Omni Arena allows up to four players to compete for a place on the leaderboard and even to win a share of a $100,000 cash prize pool. This is sponsored by Virtuix and HP and is leading to high levels of repeat play. The contest is ongoing and is managed centrally by Virtuix, meaning that operators don’t have to organise anything extra.

“Omni Arena is achieving a 30% repeat play rate across all our venues, among the highest in the industry,” says Jan Goetgeluk, founder and CEO of Virtuix. “Our goal for Omni Arena was to create an anchor attraction at entertainment venues that guests don’t just try once, but play again and again. We are excited to install Omni Arena at Andretti in Orlando, where we will showcase the attraction to VIP guests during IAAPA 2019.”

The Virtuix team will be showcasing Omni Arena at IAAPA Expo 2019 in Orlando next month, where the company is also a platinum sponsor. Virtuix will be at booth #2686 and is also holding a happy hour at Andretti Indoor Karting & Games, where attendees can see the attraction in action. Appointments can be scheduled here.

Virtuix also recently announced the addition of two new members to its sales team, industry veterans Lisa Chapman and Marisa Garris
