ProSlide Technology Inc., an industry leader in water ride manufacturing and design, is celebrating the opening of Summit Canyon at Hyland Hills’ Water World in Federal Heights, Colorado.
This new 2.5-acre development is the park’s biggest expansion in more than four decades.
The expansion features nine additional water slides, leisure and activity pools, a 7,500-square-foot children’s play zone, enhanced food and beverage options, and new opportunities for community events and programming.

The 60-foot Lookout Tower in Summit Canyon is the central feature, offering four new ProSlide rides. Marmot Mayhem debuts the region’s first HIVE 20, and Aspen Falls introduces Denver to its first SkyBOX with TurboTWISTER.
The tower also includes Columbine Cascade, a translucent TWISTER, and Runoff Rapids, a SwitchBACK ride with TORNADO 18 tubing.
Meanwhile, Critter Cove offers five nature-themed ProSlide KIDZ rides plus interactive water play for younger guests.

Elevating the experience
The project builds on a partnership between Water World and ProSlide that has lasted over thirty years. In the last two years, they collaborated to create a variety of attractions, introducing new experiences that complement the park’s current lineup.
“We looked at this project differently,” says Bob Owens, deputy director of enterprise operations for Hyland Hills. “We wanted family-friendly attractions, something different than we already had elsewhere in the park, and we wanted to elevate the kids’ experience.
"The HIVE checked that box for us. It’s innovative, unique to our region, and gives guests something they haven’t experienced before.”

Summit Canyon was also created to offer operational flexibility, allowing it to function independently during shoulder seasons, host community events, private rentals, and special occasions.
“From the beginning, this project was about getting it right,” says Phil Hayles, SVP, business development & strategic accounts at ProSlide.
“Every conversation focused on finding the right mix of experiences for Water World and creating something that made sense for their guests, their operations, and their long-term vision.”
Earlier this summer, ProSlide shared that it has once again worked with Parques Reunidos to deliver Kilauea, a RocketBLAST Water Coaster at Aquópolis Villanueva de la Cañada.
