AKA, an award-winning, full-service advertising agency working across the arts & entertainment, leisure, travel, retail, and tourism sectors, has announced the appointment of Liz Furze as global CEO, supporting the agency's transition to a more integrated global model across the US and UK.

Furze became part of AKA in London in 2001 and moved to New York in 2008 to develop its US division. Over 18 years, she has guided AKA New York’s transformation from a startup into a leading agency in the market.

She will stay based in New York while dedicating more time to the UK and overseeing AKA's global operations.

Her appointment marks the agency’s next phase of evolution, fostering closer collaboration among teams and expertise across markets while preserving the strong local leadership, client relationships, and market knowledge that have long characterised AKA.

Connecting across markets

Furze says: “AKA has always been entrepreneurial at heart. From my earliest days in London through to building the New York business, the instinct has been the same: stay close to our clients, keep questioning the expected, and never get too comfortable with the way things have always been done.

"The opportunity now is to apply that mindset to what our clients need from us today. That means moving faster, connecting talent more effectively across markets, and creating more fluid ways for our creative, media and technology teams to work together.

"I want our leadership to stay close to the work and AKA to remain as nimble, responsive and entrepreneurial as it has always been.”

Earlier this year, AKA announced the promotion of Kaila Stokes to the role of group account director, her third promotion in less than five years, and appointed Marc Jablonski to the role of vice president of business strategy earlier, recognising his role in developing the agency’s data and analytics capabilities.
