ProSlide celebrates launch of Kilauea RocketBLAST Water Coaster

The ambitious ride opened at Aquópolis Villanueva de la Cañada in Spain on 12 June and anchors the park's new Mana Nui zone

ProSlide Technology Inc., an industry leader in water ride manufacturing and design, has once again worked with Parques Reunidos to deliver Kilauea, a RocketBLAST Water Coaster, which opened to visitors at Aquópolis Villanueva de la Cañada in Spain on 12 June.

As Aquópolis Villanueva de la Cañada prepares to celebrate its 40th anniversary, it launches the 2026 season with its most ambitious attraction to date, a one-of-a-kind Water Coaster experience in Europe.


A media event to mark the opening was attended by more than 200 journalists, content creators, and industry VIPs.

'Incredible visual moment'

Kilauea serves as an anchor for Mana Nui, an entirely new area that adds 4,682 square metres to the park.

The ride spans almost 180 metres and reaches speeds of up to 35 km/h, in a thrilling journey powered by RocketBLAST water propulsion technology.

Four-person in-line vehicles are launched through a series of exciting climbs, drops, high-speed uphill launches, and weightless moments.

"Kilauea is a super dynamic ride," says Wilson. "The combination of steep drops, powerful uphill launches, and high-G turns delivers a unique mix of sensations that keeps riders engaged from start to finish."

Visitors encounter five RocketBLAST propulsion sections and three FlyingSAUCER elements, thoughtfully integrated to offer a varied and continuously evolving ride path.

A distinctive feature is Kilauea's low-to-grade FlatBLAST launch section. Set at ground level, the section has viewing windows along the launch path, allowing spectators to see friends and family speed past.

Wilson says: "The ride begins with a FlatBLAST launch that thrusts guests in a straight line immediately off the tower, taking them from 0 to more than 30 km/h in just a few seconds.

"It's an incredible visual moment for both riders and spectators, creating excitement from the very first seconds of the ride."

Kilauea is accompanied by new relaxation areas and visitor facilities throughout Mana Nui.

The expansion marks a major investment in the park's future and strengthens Aquópolis Villanueva de la Cañada's dedication to providing innovative experiences that keep visitors coming back.

Earlier this month, ProSlide celebrated the global debut of PowerRAPIDS, a new category of water ride, at Aquatopia Water Park in Vietnam.
