QLINE Consulting, a specialist consultancy in ticketing, tourism and technology, has issued a software request for proposal (RFP) for Comunn Eachdraidh Nis (Ness Historical Society), a community-run heritage organisation on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland.
Founded in 1977 as the first Historical Society of its kind in the Outer Hebrides, Comunn Eachdraidh Nis is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history, language, and cultural traditions of North Lewis and continues to protect local stories, archives, and material heritage for both residents and visitors.
Comunn Eachdraidh Nis operates an accredited museum and heritage centre, housed in a former school building.

Visitors can explore topics such as crofting, fishing, weaving, maritime history, and Gaelic culture.
Its collections include nationally significant artefacts, such as the Rona Cross, a stone cross dating from the 10th or 11th century, and exhibits linked to the Butt of Lewis Lighthouse, and local wartime and community history.
Additionally, the Society maintains extensive archives of photographs, documents, genealogical records, and oral histories that support research and family history.
The attraction's visitor facilities include a café, gift shop, and research access, bringing together heritage, learning, and community connection while maintaining the cultural identity of North Lewis.
Improving operations & elevating the visitor experience
This RFP seeks to identify a supplier of membership, EPOS, and stock management software to improve operational efficiency, minimise manual processes, and elevate the guest purchasing experience.
Supplier tender responses must be submitted by 12noon on 24 April 2026. Full details and application documents are available here.
Earlier this week, QLINE Consulting announced the launch of a dedicated Education Centre for Ticketing Ready, a free platform that helps UK visitor attractions identify their ticketing requirements and connect with their ideal suppliers.
The curated learning hub, built into the Ticketing Ready platform, supports attractions as they choose or review their ticketing system.
