Robot dogs with realistic silicone heads of prominent figures such as Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos are roaming around a Berlin museum as part of a Beeple installation.

The interactive installation by artist Beeple (Mike Winkelmann) has gone on view at Berlin's Neue Nationalgalerie and will be available through 10 May.

Titled Regular Animals, the work represents a new phase in Beeple's practice, expanding his engagement with artificial intelligence (AI) and digital culture into an immersive environment with robotics.

"Through anthropomorphic figures of animals bearing the heads of globally recognizable personalities, Beeple creates a sociopolitical allegory of contemporary power structures," the museum said in a press release.

Regular Animals consists of autonomous robotic dogs roaming freely within a pen-like enclosure.

Each robotic figure is fitted with a hyper-realistic silicone head modelled after Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, and Beeple himself.

As the robots roam the space, they capture images of their surroundings via onboard cameras, which are processed by AI systems that "reinterpret the data according to the cultural, artistic, or ideological 'style' associated with each figure", the museum added.

The robots then physically produce printed images and eject them from their rear ends, "transforming algorithmic interpretation into tangible output". All of these prints are distributed free of charge to guests.

"Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk own algorithms that control what we see and decide how we see the world," said Beeple.

"When they want to make a change, they don’t have to lobby the UN, they don’t have to go to congress, they just make a change."

Regular Animals was first shown at Art Basel Miami Beach 2025.

Elsewhere, Madrid's Colección Solo is home to a robot dog called A.I.C.C.A. that can write critiques of artworks and poop them out on paper.
