Royal Caribbean has welcomed Legend of the Seas to its fleet ahead of its European debut in July.

After nearly two years of construction at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland, Royal Caribbean's third Icon Class ship is now ready to set sail.


"Today’s delivery of Legend of the Seas marks another important milestone in our ambition to continuously redefine the vacation experience," said Jason Liberty, chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group.

Entertainment on Legend of the Seas

Highlights on Legend of the Seas include the most dining options at sea, the largest pool at sea, the Crown's Edge skywalk/zip line experience, the Category 6 water park, and the world's largest kinetic art sculpture.

Earlier this year, Royal Caribbean unveiled its fourth Icon Class cruise ship, the record-breaking Hero of the Seas, due to arrive in Miami in August 2027.

Royal Caribbean's fifth Icon Class ship is due to be delivered in 2028, followed by the sixth and seventh Icon Class ships in 2029 and 2030.

In addition, Legend of the Seas will be Royal Caribbean's fourth cruise ship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). It also features applications such as waste heat recovery systems and shore power connection.

Last month, Mexican authorities rejected Royal Caribbean's Perfect Day Mexico development due to its potential ecological impact.
