Semmel Exhibitions, a creator of award-winning blockbuster exhibitions, has opened its touring exhibition, Bubble Planet, at the COLONEUM in the MMC Studios in Cologne, Germany.
The experience follows a successful German premiere in Berlin and demonstrates the country’s appetite for immersive, social and family-oriented exhibition formats.
Bubble Planet presents a surreal, sensory world of iridescent bubbles, large-scale installations, optical illusions, an Infinity Room, a giant ball pit and virtual reality. In Germany, the installation includes twelve themed spaces, designed for families, friends and the social-media generation.

Local market knowledge & global production expertise
Bubble Planet forms part of a wider story for Semmel Concerts and its exhibition arm, Semmel Exhibitions, as Germany becomes established as one of the key markets in Europe for touring exhibitions and branded immersive experiences.
Semmel offers a mix of local market knowledge, global production expertise, integrated ticketing reach and access to strategically significant venues, such as Arena Berlin and Munich’s Kleine Olympiahalle.
This venue footprint is bolstered by a wider partner network throughout Germany’s key markets.
In Cologne, the launch of Bubble Planet at the COLONEUM in collaboration with EDUTAIN also demonstrates how new kinds of venue partnerships are pushing the boundaries of immersive entertainment.
Studio 52 at the MMC Studios is being developed as a destination for large-scale exhibitions and live experiences, offering the versatility needed for modern blockbuster formats.

Growing exhibition portfolio
Semmel’s project portfolio includes both in-house productions and global collaborations, such as Disney: The Exhibition – A Century of Magic and MARVEL: The Exhibition – Universe of Super Heroes.
Recently, it has also helped bring major global IP experiences to German audiences, for example, Harry Potter: The Exhibition and Jurassic World: The Experience. These shows prove how international IP, operational expertise and local promotion can successfully combine.
The company continues to expand and evolve its catalogue of touring productions, including a major upgrade to its signature exhibition, Tutankhamun: His Tomb and His Treasures. This now features an immersive room and VR experience.

Building on this momentum, Semmel Exhibitions and Exhibition Hub have co-produced a new immersive sister exhibition Treasures of Tutankhamun, which debuts in Antwerp this month.
The success of shows in Germany, from Titanic: An Immersive Journey to Bubble Planet, underscores the strength of the broader market.
The country offers international producers strong audiences, numerous metropolitan areas, and increasingly advanced venues.
For Semmel, this presents an opportunity to act as a local bridge, turning international exhibition brands into market-ready experiences through expertise in venues, ticketing, regional marketing, production operations, and partner coordination.
In October, Semmel celebrated the launch of Marvel: The Exhibition - Universe of Super Heroes at MM Studios in Ludwigsburg, the touring show’s first location in southern Germany.
