Shuffly, a leading creator of shuffleboards for the leisure and entertainment industry, is celebrating the launch of The Grand Shuffle on the Rijnkade in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

On 27 February, the venue developed by Brothers Horeca Groep welcomed visitors to an opening event for the country's first fully dedicated shuffleboard bar and largest shuffleboard-only concept.

Shuffleboard-focused concept

At the heart of the venue are eight fully bespoke digital shuffleboards, designed and manufactured by Shuffly.

Each table runs on proprietary hardware and software, with integrated automatic scoring and a variety of game modes that ensure play is fast-paced and accessible. Visitors can begin immediately, without rules being explained or manual scorekeeping.

In contrast to locations where shuffleboard sits among many other activities, The Grand Shuffle is wholly centred on the game.

The space, booking system and bar operations are all designed for table reservations and numerous rounds of play. This clarity delivers consistency in visitor flow and income.

The venue follows over six months of close partnership between Brothers Horeca Groep and Shuffly.

In addition to manufacturing the tables, Shuffly contributed to the concept's operational development. Table placement was optimised for sightlines and circulation, and the length of play was matched to F&B ordering patterns.

This had resulted in a venue where visitors naturally move between playing and socialising, without congestion or downtime.

Corporate groups, team outings, and evening visitors can book a table in advance, select different game formats, and mix competition with cocktails and shared snacks.

Designed for hospitality

At The Grand Shuffle, Brothers Horeca Groep places shuffleboard at the centre of the business model, rather than an add-on. While traditionally located in the corner of a bar, here the game is given a key role in a purpose-built setting.

With digital scoring that reduces friction and keeps the pace high, and structured booking slots for predictability, shuffleboard can serve as a scalable hospitality format instead of a novelty feature.

For Shuffly, the opening represents a further step in positioning digital shuffleboard as a professional product, created specifically for contemporary hospitality venues.

Last month, Shuffly revelaed Shuffly Interactive, a highly immersive shuffleboard experience that also serves as a multi-activity table.
