Simworx, the dynamic media attractions specialist, is marking the opening of the Pegasus Flying Theatre, the headline attraction at Nickelodeon Play! in Tersane, Istanbul.

The installation, which premieres Simworx’s Pegasus Flying Theatre in a Nickelodeon-themed setting, brings a dynamic flying theatre experience to one of the city's newest family entertainment attractions.

Vibrant adventure

The experience centres on a 40-seat Pegasus motion base theatre, which offers a completely immersive flying sensation. Visitors board on two different loading levels, optimising throughput while ensuring accessibility for the whole family.

They then take their seats in front of a large projection screen, and a mix of synchronised motion, visuals, and environmental effects delivers the sensation of soaring through the air.

The attraction experience, named 'Nickelodeon Journeys,' welcomes visitors to the Nickelodeon blimp for an aerial adventure to colourful worlds, inspired by some of Nickelodeon’s best-loved characters and franchises.

Along the way, visitors will meet fan favourites such as Dora, PAW Patrol, SpongeBob SquarePants, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, in an experience that offers multi-generational appeal.

Simworx has developed the Pegasus Flying Theatre to offer a highly versatile, space-efficient alternative to conventional flying theatre systems.

Large-scale flying theatres often need vast buildings and complex infrastructure. In contrast, the Pegasus is a more adaptable system that can be installed in a wider range of environments.

Terry Monkton, Simworx CEO, says: "Following the strong reception Pegasus received after its debut at IAAPA Expo in Orlando, we’re delighted to see the system now launching in its first permanent installation at Nickelodeon Play! in Tersane, Istanbul.

"This project showcases the flexibility of the Pegasus Flying Theatre and demonstrates how flying theatre experiences can be delivered in a wider range of venues.

"We’re excited for this installation to set the stage for many more Pegasus attractions around the world."

Versatile flying theatre experience

The installation at Nickelodeon Play! employs the Pegasus platform's standard theatre configuration. Additionally, alternative formats are available to meet different operational requirements.

These include the Mobile Pegasus, an entirely mobile flying theatre developed for touring attractions, temporary installations, and travelling entertainment experiences.

This configuration enables operators to bring the immersive flying theatre concept to a wide range of locations across the globe and extend audience reach without the need for a permanent build.

Where space is more limited, the Pegasus Pods offer a highly immersive ride experience in a compact configuration.

Visitors sit at the heart of the action within their own half-dome projection environment. Although the footprint is smaller, Pegasus Pods retain the key components of the flying theatre experience, including synchronised motion and wraparound visuals.

By bringing together well-known Nickelodeon characters with Simworx’s dynamic motion systems, Nickelodeon Play! seeks to provide an unforgettable, repeatable experience for families and fans.

With the Pegasus Flying Theatre's debut at Tersane Istanbul, Simworx continues to expand its global portfolio of installations, exemplifying how versatile ride systems can bring high-impact immersive entertainment to a wide variety of venues.

Last year, Simworx and Mindscape Creative launched Truth Traveler, a custom VR experience, in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
