Environmental Street Furniture (ESF), a supplier of exterior street furniture products, is showcasing its Wombles-inspired range of outdoor furniture at the UK Pavilion in the Doha Horticultural Expo, Qatar.

The UK is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the beloved furry recycling environmentalists, the Wombles of Wimbledon Common.

Like the Wombles, Environmental Street Furniture (ESF) has been making good use of the things that it finds since it was founded in 1998. The family firm uses recycled plastics to create its portfolio of innovative outdoor furniture. This ranges from rubbish bins to high-tech security solutions, with customised innovative, and inspiring solutions that are environmentally friendly, practical, and attractive.

The eye-catching Wombles collection will be on display at the Doha Horticultural Expo until March 2024, where the event’s sunny location will allow the range to demonstrate its environmental credentials and timeless appeal.

The Wombles collection utilises innovative technology which takes maximum advantage of Qatar’s intense sunshine. Products include the Wellington bench and the Tobermory Smart bin, both of which are solar-powered, as well as the Madame Cholet planter, among others. ESF’s Womble collection is made entirely of recycled plastic that is extremely durable and resistant to warping and rotting.

Alan Lowry, ESF CEO, says: “We are delighted to be showcasing our products at the Doha Horticultural Expo. Our business model is all about developing sustainable growth.  The more we export and find new clients both at home and abroad, the more we divert waste away from landfill sites and water sources. This all helps to reduce plastic waste which contributes to a cleaner and greener environment.”

Together with Invest NI and the Department for Business and Trade, the Environmental Street Furniture team will be at the Doha Horticultural Expo in January to present the Wombles Environmental Day at the UK pavilion.

Earlier this year, Environmental Street Furniture (ESF) exhibited independently for the first time at the 2023 IAAPA Expo in Orlando, the world’s largest gathering of professionals from the amusement industry.
