Zardun is poised to “redefine luxury within an environmental context

Another resort, this time named Zardun, has been announced by Neom – northwest Saudi Arabia‘s $500 billion tourism destination.

Zardun is described as a luxury eco-tourism resort. It overlooks the waters of the Gulf of Aqaba and is designed “to redefine luxury within an environmental context”, Neom said in a press release.

Zardun will have three boutique hotels, offering a total of 100 rooms and suites. Each hotel will have a different theme. It will also contain a state-of-the-art experience centre with a 360-degree observation deck.

As for outdoor activities, Zardun will provide trekking, mountain biking, rock climbing. Guests looking for wellness experiences can take part in stargazing, meditation and yoga.

Covering an area of four square kilometres, Zardun will be filled with native plants and animals. In addition, guests can enjoy educational programmes on nature protection, conservation and re-wilding.

At Zardun, Neom will create a series of oases to support different habitats. “These life-giving water sources will facilitate the re-introduction and nurturing of native animals, tree and plant species,” said Neom.

Eco-friendly and wellness experiences

“Along its coast, Zardun will support a vibrant ecosystem, including the conservation of coral reefs and other marine life in the Gulf of Aqaba, emphasizing Neom’s continuing commitment to environmental preservation.”

Neom’s other Gulf of Aqaba sites are Aquellum, Leyja, Epicon, Siranna, Utamo and Norlana. The giga-project also includes a luxury island called Sindalah, a zero-carbon city with “vertically layered” buildings named The Line, the Oxagon floating port city, and the Trojena ski resort.
