The firm has created a new Powerscourt Gardens audio tour app which will improve guest engagement and support sustainability efforts at the estate, which is one of the leading attractions in Ireland and the first to be certified by Sustainable Travel Ireland.
The app is now available for download on iOS and Android.
Promoting wellbeing
Powerscourt Estate has collaborated with accesso’s Professional Services team to launch a unique digital solution. This is designed to enhance visitor interaction and experience in the estate’s 47-acre landscaped garden, which was named no. 3 in the World’s Top 10 Gardens by National Geographic.
The new audio tour app takes guests on an easy and immersive trip around the estate’s outdoor attractions, which include the world-renowned Italian Garden, Japanese Garden, Walled Garden with a bee sanctuary, beautiful Triton Lake, Herbaceous Border, and charming woodland paths.
Using cutting-edge technology, the app provides an interactive platform for visitors to discover the estate’s rich history, tailored tours, and sustainability projects. It aims to promote wellbeing by encouraging guests to disconnect from digital distractions and reconnect with nature.
This solution ensures that all guests, regardless of internet connection, may fully enjoy the beauty of the estate. Visitors can scan a QR code during their bus ride to the attraction or upon arrival to speedily download all of the necessary content with a straightforward, one-time setup. No further internet is needed beyond the initial download, and so guests may tour the gardens at their leisure, guided by the app.
The offline capability reduces the need for brochures or physical materials, furthering Powerscourt’s commitment to environmental sustainability. In addition, an audio script text feature is available in five languages and enhances accessibility. The app illustrates how technology can be utilised to enhance the experience of nature, rather than distracting from it.
