accesso secures five-year deal extension with Cedar Fair

The visitor experience will continue to be enhanced at regional parks across the US

accesso Technology Group PLC, a leading technology provider, is celebrating the extension of a long-running partnership with one of the world’s largest regional amusement park operators.

Under the new deal, Cedar Fair Entertainment Company will continue to use the fully-hosted accesso Passport eCommerce ticketing platform, which has enabled online sales for all of the operator’s venues since 2011. The seal will help to continue improving the visitor experience across Cedar Fair’s entire North American portfolio until December 2027.

With its portfolio of amusement parks, water parks, resorts, hotels, and leisure venues, Cedar Fair welcomes approximately 28 million guests annually and boasts $1.5 billion in average yearly sales. The firm’s assets which include eighteen parks and thousands of overnight rooms are popular multi-day vacation destinations for thrill seekers and families from all over the world.

Enhancing the experience

The operator also hosts a range of popular signature events, such as Grand Carnivale, a larger-than-life celebration where guests can experience the sights, sounds, and tastes of global cultures, and Halloween Haunt, transforming parks with scare zones and mazes, speciality food and beverage and live entertainment offerings.

Unlocking revenue opportunities

With the extension, Cedar Fair can provide an easy and intuitive online purchase experience for customers on any device by continuing to employ the award-winning accesso Passport eCommerce ticketing package. The system offers a mobile-centric shopping experience with upsell and cross-sell options built throughout the purchasing cycle, allowing operators to create incremental income while enriching the visitor experience. 

In 2021 alone, the mobile-first solution processed more than 96 million tickets and bookings for accesso clients, cementing its position as a premium eCommerce solution for the leisure and entertainment industry.
