accesso launched the Prism, their reimagined Qbot, at the IAAPA Expo today. The Prism incorporates the latest technology and accesso’s proprietorial virtual queuing solutions in a wearable device specifically designed for the attractions environment.
Designed to be simple to use, robust and allowing cashless purchasing, ride photography tagging and access, the Prism also enables parks to message clients and also collect data about their experience. The touchscreen stand alone device can operate without the need for smartphone tethering.
Speaking to Blooloop, accesso Executive Chairman Tom Burnett said that the significant investment in creating a hardwear device was based on a customer requirement that could not be filled by smartphones: “I absolutely see the demand for a fit-for-purpose device designed for the attractions market.”
Burnet sees potential applications for the device, which can be branded, reaching beyond theme parks into other areas such as cruise liners and ski resorts.
“Untethered by a smartphone or rigorous pre-planning requirements, guests can now enjoy a carefree, hasslefree and waitfree experience when they visit their favorite venue, ” said Steve Brown, accesso CEO. “With accesso Prism, we introduce an improved way for visitors to enjoy attractions, and for attraction operators to offer more fun, more convenience, and less waiting for their guests.”
