Barco reveals third-generation Event Master platform Encore3 at ISE 2024

News
Barco launches Encore3

Barco, the technology company focusing on innovative visualisation solutions, has launched its much-awaited third-generation Event Master platform, Encore3.

It is also releasing the IO Gateway, which is the firm’s first IPMX transcoder. The launch of these products marks the beginning of a new era in innovative Barco image processing technology.

The firm is presenting these new technologies at ISE 2024, which is taking place in Barcelona until 2 February. Attendees can find Barco in Hall 2, at stand #2M100.

Groundbreaking innovations

The Encore3 was created to be the ultimate image-processing platform for any event. It features integrated video signal distribution, switching, layered video screen composition, and the capacity to manage all screens, whether projection, LCD, or LED.

It offers a larger canvas size of around 80MP PVW/PGM, with 12 bits 4:4:4 processing, and at least 16 fully capable 4K layers per screen. As with other models in the Barco video processor portfolio, the Encore3 delivers outstanding native 4K image quality, best-in-class Athena scaling, and ultra-low processing latency to 16ms.

The Encore3’s built-to-order design, which features a flexible slot-based architecture and modular cards, allows users to adapt the system to their own needs while also protecting their investments through card and controller reusability.

Barco launches IO Gateway

The Barco IO Gateway series provides a breakthrough AVoIP solution that follows IPMX/2110 open standards.

The gateways with bi-directional connections serve as the foundation for a simpler, future-proof setup, effortlessly moving traditional baseband signals such as HDMI and SDI into an open standards networks-based system. It simplifies installations and interoperability by eliminating the need for additional switchers, cables, converters, and other components.

Robbie Bruce, director product management image processing at Barco, says: “For almost 20 years, live event professionals and operators have been calling on the Barco Event Master systems as the preferred choice for shows of all sizes worldwide.

“Last year, the E2 even showed a record-high sales. With these new additions, we’re determined to continue leading the way for our customers for many years to come with a future-proof suite of image processing solutions and AV-over-IP capabilities.”

Earlier this month, Barco announced its plans to present two new projector platforms in its flagship product range, the I600 and QDX, at ISE 2024.
