Christie, the global visual and audio technology company, has introduced the Eclipse G3, a unique 6DLP projector that delivers true HDR for exceptional image quality.
As the third iteration of Christie Eclipse technology, Eclipse G3 will be showcased at CEDIA Expo from 3 – 6 September at the Colorado Convention Center, lighting up the screen with Seymour-Screen Excellence in SR7 as part of a home theatre setup worth over USD$1 million.
Eclipse G3 is designed for applications that demand immersive, realistic experiences, such as ultra-high-end home theatres, planetariums, and themed attractions, to deliver peak display performance.
Offering a level of detail and depth of colour not achievable with other projectors, the Eclipse G3 features true HDR performance for the deepest, darkest onscreen blacks imaginable.
With up to 20,000,000:1 sequential contrast ratio—100 times Rec. 2100 contrast performance—Eclipse G3 delivers exceptional detail in the extreme black range and stunning specular highlights. Colours are rich, saturated, and lifelike, with Eclipse G3’s colour gamut covering approximately 98% of the Rec. 2020 colour palette.
“Eclipse G3 makes ‘video black’ a thing of the past,” says Larry Paul, executive director for technology and custom solutions at Christie. “It can display true black without any residual light for the richest visual experience in fully light-controlled environments.”
Eclipse G3 is capable of up to 120Hz for 2D and active 3D at 60Hz per eye, all at native 4K resolution. This next-gen Eclipse not only offers increased brightness at 30,000 ANSI lumens and greater durability—maintaining full brightness for 50,000 hours—but also features enhancements like built-in RGB pure laser illumination and a more streamlined, easier-to-install design.
Meet Christie at CEDIA Expo
In SR10, Christie collaborates with Alcons Audio to showcase a CP4425-RGB pure laser cinema projector with VDR. VDR is a patented technology that enables Christie CineLife+ Series projectors to analyse each video frame in real-time, dynamically adjusting the laser output. This optimisation enhances contrast, black-level detail, and power efficiency, all while preserving the original creative vision.
Attendees can explore Christie LED solutions at the ASCENDO booth, #4312. A 4×9 grid of MicroTiles LED with a 0.75mm pixel pitch will demonstrate the technology’s impressive visual quality, featuring 24-bit internal processing and support for 4K@120 Hz.
Additionally, a 163-inch diagonal Core Series III UHD LED video wall with a 0.9mm pixel pitch will be displayed. Visitors can also examine static projectors, including an M 4K25 RGB pure laser projector, a 4K1600-JS Jazz Series 1DLP laser projector, and a 4K860-iS Inspire Series projector.
Elsewhere, Christie is delivering vivid, immersive visuals for the new Ghostly Manor dark ride at the UK’s Paulton Park, with its 1DLP laser projectors.
