nWave Pictures, a multinational producer and distributor of immersive 3D/4D content, has unveiled its latest film experience, in a collaboration with video game developer Gameloft and luxury car brand Porsche.
Asphalt 4D: Rush Ride is a brand new 4D ride simulation film that has been recently added to the nWave catalogue and is now available for screening and testing.
The new film is based on the award-winning Asphalt franchise by Gameloft, downloaded one billion times by gaming and racing fans around the world. Gameloft provided its top-level gameplay expertise while nWave provided 3D conversion of film images to match the industry standard.
Gameloft’s senior marketing director Benoit Pourgaton says “Through our Asphalt franchise, Gameloft is committed to providing thrilling experiences to all adrenaline seekers around the world. We are very happy to partner with nWave to offer a new way of going beyond imagination with amazing cars.”

COO for nWave Pictures Distribution, Matthieu Gondinet, adds “We are delighted to team up with Gameloft, a company known for quality CGI which is something that we value above anything else. We know that Asphalt 4D: Rush Ride will be an experience that both children and adults will want to repeat over and over.”
Fusing both companies’ expertise, audiences can now experience the thrill of arcade races in 3D/4D theatres, with installations available in over 100 markets served by nWave. Riders will encounter effects not found in traditional gaming environments such as moving seats, wind effects, and water splashes.
Driving extra interest
Further enhancing the prestige and marketability of the experience, nWave & Gameloft established an exclusive relationship with Porsche to feature four of its most desirable sportscars in the film, these being the 911 Targa 4S, 911 GT3 RS, 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport and 718 Cayman.
Gondinet adds “The idea here is to invite viewers to an elite competition across the globe – and what better brand is there than Porsche to convey the idea of design, performance and speed.”
The new attraction was officially launched at IAAPA Expo in November in Orlando, US.
Last year, nWave hosted a blooloop Innovation Session in partnership with Triotech, looking at ways visitor attractions can stimulate the sector in a post-Covid context. The session is available to watch on-demand now.
