RocketRez, the all-in-one POS for tours and attractions, has announced two new additions to its management team. Monica Marics takes on the role of Chief Operating Officer while Alan Puana has been recruited to the role of Vice President, Global Growth. Marics and Puana both bring a great deal of industry experience to the company as it embarks on a new growth phase following its Series A financing.
Monica Marics joins RocketRez
Marics’ most recent role was as the founder of Sumica Consulting, providing leadership and operational consulting for tech start-ups. She has more than three decades of experience in leading B2C, B2B and B2G tech companies and previously worked for ATT/Bell and Dominion Voting as well as the State Governments of Vermont, Delaware and Texas where she was responsible for teams of more than 200 technical staff and $200 combined revenue.
“I am thrilled to be joining RocketRez,” says Marics. “The company is poised for strong growth with a best-in-class product and strong leadership. Travel connects all of us, and I can’t wait to be a part of that journey!”
Marics graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS in Industrial Engineering and from Virginia Polytech with an MS in Industrial Engineering. She also holds 12 US patents.
“Monica is a rare leader that can balance disciplined business process with the enthusiasm to enable new and innovative projects,” says RocketRez CEO, John Pendergrast. “Her diverse background is a perfect fit to guide RocketRez through this period of expansion.”
Alan Puana is new VP, Global Growth
Puana has experience with household names like Universal Parks & Resorts, Expedia and Groupon. In his new role as Vice President, Global Growth at RocketRez, he will be steering the company’s expansion and customer acquisition into new markets. He has a BA in International Relations from the University of San Diego and holds an EMBA from UC Irvine – Paul Merage School of Business.
“Over the course of his career, Alan has delivered strong growth for some of the world’s most iconic travel brands across business verticals and regions,” explains Chief Growth Officer, Joe Robinson.
“Under his strategic leadership, Universal Parks and Resorts grew important international partnerships and deepened business initiatives across the value chain in Asia and emerging growth markets. Alan has a proven track record in accelerating and delivering growth and building global teams. He’s an excellent choice for this role, and I look forward to what the future has in store for us all.”
I am excited to join RocketRez and its innovative, driven team,” adds Puana. “RocketRez’ ability to integrate and sell multiple units of an Attraction/Tour through one platform — Tickets, Retail POS, F&B, Membership, Packages, etc.…— is unique and helps to make aligning the overall business and reporting really streamlined and simple. RocketRez is poised for continued exponential growth, specifically with enterprise partnerships, and I look forward to assisting with that growth.”
Earlier this year, the company announced that it had raised $5 million from Blueprint Equity along with $2 million CAD in revenue-based financing from TIMIA Capital for a total Series A investment of $8.4 million CAD.
