The group’s latest acquisition will see RWS work globally with new clients

RWS Entertainment Group (RWS), a creator of award-winning custom entertainment, has announced it has acquired ted, an AV, fitness and custom merchandise company.

The award-winning team from ted will utilise its creative expertise to produce new immersive experiences for seasonal events, including Halloween and Christmas, at locations around the world, leveraging years of design, fabrication and installation knowledge.

Decades of experience

ted, which is also recognised as The Experience Department, will expand the group’s expertise to feature full-circle experience design, audiovisual solutions and fitness and wellbeing programs. The UK-based firm has assisted the industry for more than two decades through its offices found in four different countries.

The firm works with clients to define and design guest experience blueprints that inform aspects of project development. To meet each client’s need, ted focuses on creating wow-factor moments, in areas such as resort design, themed attractions, custom merchandise and food options.

Ryan Stana, RWS founder and CEO, says: “The synergy between ted and RWS Entertainment Group opens opportunities for our team and our clients to achieve the ultimate immersive experiences on land and at sea.

“Our companies have an outstanding record of delivering powerful projects. Together with other RWS companies including JRA and Binder Casting, the possibilities are endless. Each client will benefit from the strength of the entire international team, elevating the guest experience while maximizing revenue.”

Robin Breese-Davies will continue to lead the growth of ted as part of RWS Entertainment Group. He says: “At our core, we are creative innovative thinkers; we push the experience to the next level. I am extremely proud, on behalf of the ted team, to be joining the RWS family.

“Our connected approach and 360-degree design experience truly sets us apart, and we are excited to continue designing and defining what’s next in guest experience.”

Growing company

The acquisition comes as RWS Entertainment Group experiences a period of growth across its various divisions, which has seen cruise ship activations triple, the creation of a new Leased Experiences Division, a new RWS Décor Products catalogue, and the introduction of RWS Fun Crew: Staffing Reimagined.

RWS also acquired JRA, a leading experience designer, last year in a move designed to create an exclusive, full-service provider of guest experiences and attractions.

Over one dozen JRA-designed projects are planned to open this year, with RWS companies set to deliver approximately 500 live experiences in 50 countries, generating employment for 6,500 performers, technicians and designers worldwide.

RWS Entertainment Group recently announced an array of appointments, including its new chief financial officer Keith Senglaub, a former Feld Entertainment finance executive.
