Hyper Ride and Storm products win top accolades at Middle East ceremony

Triotech, an award-winning creator of media-based attractions, has won two awards at a recent industry event in the Middle East for its interactive experience concepts.

The firm received MENALAC awards for two projects during a gala evening held in Dubai, UAE on 29 March 2022. The first trophy went to Storm, Triotech’s coin-operated VR interactive simulator, in the Best New Product in the FECs Category.

Found in more than two hundred venues around the world, Storm has generated a return on investment for some arcades and FECs as quick as two months. The operator-free nature of Storm means it is an ideal fit for venues without increasing staff headcount.

Each Storm unit allows two players to compete sitting side-by-side to experience the motion seats and special effects. A variety of films and difficulty levels incentivise players to return in an attempt to gain a new high score.

Operations manager at The Zone, Circle Mall Dubai, Joseph Choueiri says: “The Storm has been a standout performer for our operation since our opening – it ranks in the top five revenue earners at our location.

“Our players absolutely love the immersion, motion, and interaction. We see a lot of repeat plays as our customers try the software, enjoy the experience, and repeat on either on the same day or on their next visit. This is always a great sign for a great product.”

Triotech also won an award for Hyper Ride, an innovative interactive attraction that was named Best Concept.

A first of its kind attraction, the media-driven product utilises a library of content to deliver a dynamic experience for guests in a compact footprint.

Hyper Ride is designed to be an ideal fit for amusement parks, FECs, shopping complexes and other locations that are not typically venues for traditional dark ride attractions found in large theme parks and resorts.

The concept had already won an IAAPA Brass Ring Award at IAAPA Expo in Orlando last year, where it was also announced that the ride will be installed at a prime location in Niagara Falls, Canada.

Triotech president and CEO Ernest Yale was in attendance to collect the award. He says: “This is a great honour for Triotech and its passionate team of dedicated industry veterans.

“To be recognised by peers is always a positive sign that we are creating attractions and rides that are fun, unique, and bring a strong return on investment for operators. Of course, getting two awards in one day makes it even more special!”

Triotech recently hosted a blooloop Innovation Session which detailed its work with Hyper Ride, discussing the ride’s main features and explaining what makes it unique.
