Erwan de la Villéon, CEO of Puy du Fou España, is a historian and the creative mind behind the shows at the new Puy du Fou historical park on the outskirts of Toledo, Spain. The 30-hectare site launched in 2021 with four daytime shows based on Spanish history, as well as four period villages. Puy du Fou’s shows feature spectacular sets and impressive special effects and stunts.
De la Villéon has been working at Puy du Fou España since 2019, when the ‘El Sueño de Toledo’ nighttime show debuted ahead of the park itself. The show, which takes audiences through 1,500 years of Spanish history, is set on five hectares of stage and boasts 1,200 costumes, as well as 800 projectors, 60 water jets, and 28 full HD video projectors. It can accommodate 4,000 spectators, who enjoy scenery and special effects such as water, fire, light, pyrotechnics and drones.
De la Villéon is passionate about history, popular culture and legend. He leads more than 700 staff at Puy du Fou España. “Year after year, the park continues to grow and receive more visitors who leave excited about their own story,” said one person who nominated De la Villéon.
