Jacqueline Tan is charged with overseeing the expansion of Singapore’s Sentosa tourist island via a masterplan that includes the redevelopment of neighbouring island Pulau Brani.
The Sentosa-Brani plan reimagines the area as an ‘island playground’ set within a biodiverse tropical landscape. This will comprise five zones known as Vibrant Cluster, Island Heart, Waterfront, Ridgeline and Beachfront. The development will be rolled out in phases over the next 20 to 30 years.
Located off Singapore’s southern waterfront, Sentosa developed as a tourist destination from the 1980s onwards and now welcomes around 19 million visits a year. As part of the new masterplan, a ‘Sentosa Sensoryscape’ walkway will link Resorts World Sentosa and Universal Studios Singapore on the north of the island with beaches to the south .
