Two new productions are coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Walt Disney World has set opening dates for two new shows at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, one themed to villains and the other to The Little Mermaid.

Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After and The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure both debut on 27 May at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida.

Starting with the new villains-themed production, this immersive stage show features Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook and Maleficent.

During the experience, these villains will “step into the spotlight to make their case about why they’ve been treated the most unfairly over the years”, Disney said in a blog post.

“Step into this mysterious realm, where Disney’s most infamous baddies finally get their chance to share their side of the story,” it added.

Unfairly Ever After is located at the Sunset Showcase and will be shown multiple times each day. Also, Sunset Showcase will feature a new stage with the latest technology.

The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure is a reimagined production inspired by the 1989 film and featuring characters like Ariel, Flounder, Sebastian and Eric.

The show also includes incredible set pieces and costumes, cutting-edge effects, puppetry, and a new design.

Songs featured in the production include ‘Under the Sea’, ‘Part of Your World’, ‘Kiss the Girl’, and ‘Daughters of Triton’.

Earlier this month at SXSW, Walt Disney Imagineering teased the new Monsters, Inc. coaster coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disney’s first-ever suspended coaster recreates the door vault scene from the film. It’s part of a new land called Monstropolis.
