Disneyland has unveiled its upcoming Pixar Place Hotel. The first Pixar-themed hotel in the US is replacing the California resort’s current Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel.
Disneyland has released new concept art and details for the reimagined hotel, which overlooks Disney California Adventure and will be finished this winter.
Per a blog post, the hotel’s lobby will feature iconic images from Pixar films at the front desk. It will also include the Pixar lamp on top of its ball, with a colourful character-inspired mobile hanging above it.

Highlights include a new water play area based on Finding Nemo, with Crush the sea turtle at the top of a 186-foot-long waterslide, and Hank the octopus hanging out at the splash pad.
Later this year, a family play court will be added, offering interactive activities and games inspired by Pixar’s short films such as La Luna, Bao, For the Birds and Burrow. An F&B area will include the umbrellas from The Blue Umbrella.
Elsewhere, Disneyland Paris is celebrating its 31st birthday this year with a series of Pixar-themed experiences and updates at the resort.

These include a Luca-style room at the Pizzeria Bella Notte restaurant, a new Coco-themed restaurant, an immersive experience paying tribute to Pixar films, and a Pixar show.
Meanwhile, Disneyland has pitched its expansion plans, known as ‘DisneylandForward’, to Orange County business leaders.
“This is the next generation of the Disneyland resort,” said president Ken Potrock (via the Orange County Register). “When Disney invests, all boats rise and everyone benefits.”

Disneyland‘s planning proposal includes lands and attractions based on Frozen, Tangled, Peter Pan, Zootopia, Toy Story and Tron.
Additionally, Disneyland and Walt Disney Imagineering are working with James Cameron on a new Avatar experience at the resort.
