Dronisos, a leading drone light show specialist, has shared its plans to showcase its collaboration with Disneyland Paris at IAAPA Expo 2024, which is taking place in Orlando from 18 to 22 November.

The company has been working with Disneyland Paris since 2018 to create temporary and permanent shows which captivate audiences and inspire excitement. As the theme park sector continues to produce ever-more spectacular night-time shows, the two companies have positioned themselves as innovators in the field.

A spokesperson from Dronsios says: “The IAAPA Expo provides a valuable opportunity for industry leaders to explore tomorrow’s innovations and address current challenges, such as intensifying competition and the need for increasingly diverse and innovative experiences, all while considering environmental concerns.

“The alliance between Dronisos and Disneyland Paris perfectly embodies this dynamic, demonstrating an ability to continually elevate entertainment, exceed guest expectations and deliver ever more magical and unique experiences.”

Pushing the boundaries of entertainment

Dronsios was initially appointed to reimagine the indoor shows at Disneyland Paris using drone technology. This marked the beginning of a series of projects that combined the two organisations’ technological and artistic expertise and has resulted in daily drone displays at the park.

Disney D-Light, Disneyland Paris’ first daily drone show, was developed to mark the park’s 30th anniversary and introduced illuminated drones above Sleeping Beauty Castle.

“This technological and artistic show, performed nearly 500 times over more than a year, quickly became a must-see for park guests,” says the company. “Designed to harmonize with various spectacular scenic effects and meet rigorous logistical constraints, Disney D-Light embodies a commitment to continuously push the boundaries of entertainment, providing guests with ever-more immersive and memorable experiences.”

Disney D-Light was named “Best Live Show” in the 2022 Park World Excellence Awards. Following the success of this production, Dronisos became an Official Technology Provider for Disneyland Paris in 2022. The extended partnership demonstrates a common commitment to innovation and exceptional entertainment.

In 2023, they created Avengers: Power the Night, which combined pyrotechnics, visual projections, and an amazing 500-drone choreography, to bring the the Marvel Universe to life and immerse the audience in an epic adventure.

“This collaboration is marked by an ongoing desire to innovate, constantly exploring new creative and technological possibilities,” says Dronisos.

Dronisos Disneyland Paris Electrical Sky Parade

“The creation of the Disney Electrical Sky Parade, introduced in January 2024, embodies the spirit of creativity and daring at Disneyland Paris, with the cutting-edge technology provided by Dronisos. This immersive show features over 500 synchronized light drones alongside a variety of scenic effects such as fountains, lighting, and video projections, all set against the iconic backdrop of Sleeping Beauty Castle.”

The show features illuminated floats inspired by the classic Main Street Electrical Parade. Dumbo’s train, Mickey and his friends, Peter Pan, and Cinderella’s carriage are brought to life in the night sky, complete with details such as sparks streaming from Captain Hook’s ship to simulate cannonballs and smoke billowing from the train’s chimney. These effects are provided by Dronisos’ pyrotechnic drones, created especially for this show.

Dronisos red drones

In July 2024, Dronisos and Disneyland Paris achieved a Guinness World Record title for the “Largest aerial display of a fictional character formed by multirotors / drones”, with an extraordinary tricolour Mickey Mouse head made of 1,571 perfectly synchronised drones.

Earlier this week, Disneyland Paris revealed its new immersive nighttime spectacular ‘Disney Tales of Magic’, which is set to launch on 10 January 2025. Dronisos’ drones will form 3D figures in the sky above the Sleeping Beauty Castle, accompanied by lasers, fountain displays, projections, and fireworks.
