Everland is to launch a new virtual reality attraction - Robot VR.

Robot VR, which was developed jointly by Samsung C&T and a local startup, usesSamsung Gear VR technology.

The three minute experience has six riders perched on each arm of the robot, 6 metres above the ground.

The arms canmove through 360 degrees and riders areable to control the robot to attack or dodge the enemy.

FORREC designs world's tallest Coaster Wheel

FORREC, a leading entertainment design specialist,has designed the Time Rider, the world's tallest Coaster Wheel and the first in Korea. The ride opened on 28 June at Gyeongju World amusement park in Gyeongju-si, South Korea.

The record-breaking ride stands 51 metres tall and includes 24 suspended cabins, with 16 swinging and 8 fixed, and has a capacity of more than 1,080 riders per hour. Its opening marked the park's 40th anniversary.

Intamin presents Time Rider Coaster Wheel at Gyeongju World

Intamin, a creator of record-breaking amusement rides, is celebrating the opening of Time Rider, a new centrepiece attraction at Gyeongju World in South Korea. The meticulously themed Coaster, which welcomed its first riders on 28 June 2025, commemorating the park’s 40th anniversary, offers a dual experience catering to both families and thrill seekers.

Gyeongju World differentiates itself from traditional giant wheels and observation rides by selecting Intamin's Coaster Wheel model, offering two distinct ride experiences.

The first offers a classic giant wheel ride, giving visitors expansive views of the park and the surrounding landscape. Alternatively, visitors can opt for an energetic ride with mobile gondolas. These gondolas travel along a track inspired by Intamin’s roller coasters, moving with gravity as the wheel turns. This creates the feeling that the gondola is momentarily lifting off from the structure before swinging back to a stationary position. 

Two unique experiences

Located in the heart of Gyeongju World, Time Rider reaches a height of 51 metres (164 feet), catching visitors' attention as they arrive and building anticipation before they enter the park. 

The distinctive design of the ride, combined with Gyeongju World's exceptional thematic work, enhances the park's identity. Additionally, Time Rider features custom LED lighting, creating a unique atmosphere in the park at night. 

Whether guests enjoy breathtaking landscapes, experience the charming gondolas, or soak up the lively vibe of the theme park, Time Rider offers a memorable adventure.

“The entire Intamin team extends heartfelt congratulations to Gyeongju World on their 40th anniversary and is honoured to be part of this celebration,” says the company. “We express our sincere gratitude to Gyeongju World for their trust and partnership.”

A team of concept artists, graphic designers, and architectural designers from FORREC, a leading entertainment design specialist,collaborated to create the story, ride and vehicle theming, queue design, and façade for the new attraction.

Earlier this year, Intamin celebrated the opening of the latest ride at Six Flags Over Georgia, Georgia Gold Rusher, which is the world’s first Intamin Ultra Surf. It guarantees an exceptional experience featuring thrilling airtime and powerful launches, all within a small footprint.
