Global entertainment design company, FORREC Ltd., has been commissioned to create a masterplan for Longleat Safari and Adventure Park.
The company has been tasked with building on the park’s current success and planning for continued growth in attendance over the next 10 years.
Opened in 1966, Longleat is the largest safari park in England and a leading tourist destination. The 900 acre site also features 20 further attractions including Penguin Island, The Jungle Cruise, Monkey Temple and the historic Longleat House, home to the 7th Marquess of Bath.
FORREC will be evaluating the current guest experience across the whole site, making recommendations for new attractions to enhance the guest experience and planning for the facilities required to accommodate increasing attendance.
“Working with an existing site is always challenging and exciting, ” reported Matt Dawson, Senior Director of Visitor Attractions at FORREC. “We will be looking at what’s there right now and thinking through what could make the experience better, not just now, but 10 years from now. Being able to project forward like that takes a lot of thought and is also a lot of fun.”
FORREC has created masterplans for some of the industry’s biggest names including Universal Studios, Six Flags and LEGOLAND worldwide.
“As a 600 year old heritage attraction, Longleat has some unique planning challenges, ” commented Longleat’s Chief Executive Officer, Bob Montgomery. “FORREC’s experience and diversity made them an obvious choice to work on our masterplan.”
