Genting SkyWorlds occupies 26 acres and boasts 26 attractions based on original IP and 20th Century Studios brands.

Genting SkyWorlds, the long-awaited outdoor theme park at Resorts World Genting (RWG) in Malaysia, has opened with a selection of rides and attractions including Independence Day: Defiance and Sid’s Rock ‘N’ Slide.

Genting SkyWorlds occupies 26 acres and features 26 rides and attractions. The theme park can accommodate 20,000 visitors at 50 percent capacity due to the pandemic.

The $800m attraction’s nine themed lands, based on original IP and 20th Century Studios brands, are Studio Plaza, Eagle Mountain, Liberty Lane, Andromeda Base, Rio, Epic, Ice Age, Robots Rivet Town and Central Park.

“Opening a theme park during the pandemic has been a challenge, and whilst every effort has been made to ensure our full offerings are available, a small selection of attractions require a little more time to be completed, something the team is working hard to achieve,” RWG’s VP and head of theme park operations Greg Pearn confirmed last month.
