Katapult-Al Hokair Group-2021

The two companies will work together on next-generation themed attractions in the Middle East

Katapult, the international guest experience design agency, has entered into a new agreement with Al Hokair Group, a hospitality and entertainment company based in the Middle East. Over the past 50 years, it has built up a portfolio of over 92 entertainment centres and 35 hotels across the region, under the leadership of Sheikh Abdulmohsin Alhokair.

The new contract was signed at the Saudi Entertainment and Amusement (SEA) Expo, which took place earlier this month in Riyadh. As a result of the agreement, Katapult and Al Hokair group will collaborate on developing the strategy, guest experience and design of next-gen themed attractions in the Middle East.

Collaboration will add value

“We are delighted to work alongside Al Hokair to help them reimagine existing and create brand new themed attractions across the Middle East,” says Dawn Foote, CEO and Co-Founder of Katapult. “Our working relationship over the last three years has been a joy, and we’re proud to formally agree our partnership in what is Katapult’s 20th year in existence.”

“We are pleased to have this collaboration with Katapult, the organisation that continues to be relied upon by some of the largest IPs in the leisure and attractions industry, and we are sure that this collaboration will add a great value to our current and future projects,” adds Mishal AlHokair, Deputy CEO – Entertainment at Al Hokair.

“This solid step comes in line with the group’s vision and strategic road map (Wujuhat) for the coming five years, and will help us to mitigate the market changes, strengthen the company’s standing through repositioning our leisure and entertainment interests, redeveloping and refreshing the company’s main locations and developing them to align with today’s customer and market trends.

“We will continue to create immersive experiences and maintain high standards of our coming leisure and entertainment projects where we will have the whole family getting creative by unlocking their creative potential together via the high-quality hands-on experiences designed by Katapult.”

During the expo, Katapult also announced that it is now a member of the Middle East and North Africa Leisure Attractions Council (MENALAC).

Earlier this year, the company worked with The LEGO Group and Merlin Entertainments to create a new experience at 11 LEGOLAND Discovery Centers, the DOTS Festival.
