“We are delighted to welcome [PwC] as a partner invested in the project,” said PY Gerbeau, CEO of the London Resort.

The London Resort, a £2.5 billion next-generation entertainment resort in the UK, has announced a strategic partnership with PwC to build smart venue technology for the attraction.

“To be the first theme park across Europe to be built from scratch in nearly 30 years, we need to work with the best and they don’t come much bigger or better than PwC,” said PY Gerbeau, CEO of the London Resort.

“We are delighted to welcome them as a partner invested in the project.”

PwC will work alongside the London Resort to develop its technology masterplan, which focuses on delivering world-class physical and virtual entertainment experiences for visitors.

The company will bring its experience in smart venue technologies, delivering and investing in state-of-the-art operational solutions that meet the London Resort’s environmental and social goals.

“Our firm commitment to ESG principles, our strategy to make a serious contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals alongside a determination to deliver meaningful change are a clear fit with PwC’s purpose,” Gerbeau said.

“Our determination to deliver on sustainability, commitment to deliver on carbon zero aspirations and improving the fabric of society by operating as good corporate citizens are values we share with PwC.”

“Obviously this is a significant project for London and the UK, and closely aligned with our own purpose at PwC, generating significant employment, regeneration and economic benefits,” said Marco Amitrano, head of clients and markets at PwC UK.

“Likewise, its vision for next generation entertainment is an exciting proposition – particularly at a time when changes to how we live and work, infrastructure spending, and sustainability initiatives are fuelling remarkable developments in technology.”

“We’re proud to bring our expertise and imagination to help build this cutting-edge tech into the fabric of the London Resort experience alongside our global ecosystem of technology partners,” Amitrano said.

Additionally, the London Resort aims to be one of the most sustainable entertainment destinations in the world. It will spend £150m on remediation and habitat enhancement, and will deliver a net-gain in biodiversity.

“Sustainability has always been at the core of our vision,” Gerbeau said. “Our proposals show how we can deliver millions for the economy and thousands of jobs for the region while protecting and enhancing natural habitats.”

“We will be beacon of what can be achieved when the environment, commerce and entertainment flourish together, hand in hand,” he added.

The London Resort’s first gate will launch in 2024, with the second gate opening by 2029. The team submitted a planning application on December 31, 2021.
