Oriental Land Co., Ltd. has announced that a new visitor attraction themed around the Disney character, Stitch, will open in Tomorrowland at Tokyo Disneyland® Park on July 17, 2015.
A combination of real-time animation and digital puppetry, the family-oriented Stitch Encounter will allow visitors of all ages to have live, unscripted conversations with the Disney character. Visitors will interact with Stitch at the Stitch Monitoring Station via a large theatre screen. The attraction, which cost approximately two billion yen, accommodates 160 people at a time with each show running for approximately 12 minutes.
Versions of Stitch Encounter already exist at Hong Kong Disneyland and Disneyland Paris.
