Paultons Park is launching its multi-million-pound themed world, Tornado Springs, on April 12, with rides based on a 1950s town in the US.

Paultons Park invested £12 million in the Tornado Springs expansion project, which covers four acres and features eight new rides and experiences.

Tornado Springs is expected to be the biggest new area opening at a UK theme park this year. In addition, it boasts the first free-spinning coaster of its kind in the UK.

“We’ve worked hard to make Tornado Springs the highest-quality, fully immersive family experience on offer in the UK,” said James Mancey, operations director at Paultons Park.

“We’ve really focussed on the detailing in the new area and have added some special touches to Tornado Springs to give it extra wow-factor and to exceed even the wildest of expectations.”

Mancey described the opening as “a landmark moment in the evolution of Paultons Park” and said he has “no doubt that Tornado Springs will be the most popular and in-demand attraction at Paultons this year”.

Tornado Springs is inspired by an American Midwest desert resort town in the 1950s. It boasts a free-spinning coaster called Storm Chaser, the only free-spinning roller coaster of its kind in the UK.

The Cyclonator is set to become the most thrilling ride at Paultons Park. Additional rides include Al’s Auto Academy, Windmill Towers, Buffalo Falls and The Trekking Tractors.

Al’s Shop and Service will sell exclusive souvenirs, while Route 83 Diner will serve up F&B. Children can enjoy two new playgrounds, Parking Lot Tots and Junkyard Junction.

“Everyone at Paultons Park is extremely proud of Tornado Springs and we can’t wait to see guests enjoying the new themed land very soon,” added Mancey.

“Our continual investment into the park’s attractions and facilities is a pledge to ensure that we continue to offer the very best in family entertainment for many years to come.”

Paultons Park and its new land Tornado Springs will open on April 12 with health and safety measures in response to COVID-19.

MK Themed Attractions, the Danish theming expert, produced and installed all theming for Paultons Park’s new area, while The Leisure Expert Group created the design and visuals for Tornado Springs.
