P&P Projects, a provider of turnkey design-build services for themed entertainment & leisure experiences, held a press conference during IAAPA Expo Europe this week in Amsterdam to announce its new company branch and a new product.
The new branch, ThemedMotion, will specialise in the turnkey development of animatronics and animated figures. The team also revealed the first official ThemedMotion show model, Mormel, which has been brought to life with twenty-one electrical actuators, allowing for almost 30 movements. The lifelike dynamic figure was created by combining a program created by expert animators with ThemedMotion’s bespoke control software.
Celebrating 35 years in the industry
P&P Projects is commemorating its 35th anniversary this year. Founded in 1989, it has developed into a well-known design-build partner for the international themed entertainment sector. With a sizable portfolio of experience working with various partners and clients, including luxury resorts, cruise lines, and leading amusement parks and museums, P&P Projects is a leader in the industry.
Over the years, the company has designed and produced turnkey themed entertainment experiences, focusing on immersive theming and physical, thematic components. Dynamic, moving show components are crucial in this. Despite having developed many of these products in the past, the company has long aspired to develop animated, motion-based elements in the same turnkey fashion.
This ambition has led to the creation of ThemedMotion, a division within the company dedicated to designing and manufacturing sophisticated animated figures and animatronics. This comes after carefully examining the demands and problems frequently experienced in this specific area of themed entertainment manufacture.
ThemedMotion will foster durability, dependability, and innovation as its essential qualities. The new division distinguishes itself with a clear focus on a unique control mechanism that enables performance monitoring from a distance. Together with this, maintenance is made simple, and show sets integrate seamlessly because of P&P Projects’ extensive experience in this area.
This summer, P&P Projects also opened a new production facility in Asten, The Netherlands.
