Reese's interactive dark ride announced for Hersheypark

Hersheypark,Pennsylvania, has announced an interactive dark ride themed to Reese's candy.

The 121-acre amusement park announced Reese's Cupfusion, astate-of-the-art, multi-level game player dark ride. It will be locatedin Founder’s Way and is set to debut in Summer 2019.

The ride will be manufactured by Sally Corporation with design elements by Raven Sun Creative.

In the ride, the rider is enlisted as aReese’sAgent Trainee at Reese’s Central. It is set in a futuristic factory that runs onReese’sSpirit. The Crystal Cup is at the centre of the factory. This collects the love of chocolate and peanut butter to create Cupfusion Energy that powers the factory.

Guests’ mission is to protect the Crystal Cup and also ensure that the factory keeps running.

A new character, Commander Cup, will be introduced in 2019 along with the ride. Other new characters including Mint the Merciless and The League of Misfit Candy will also be introduced. In the ride, they will be trying to steal the Crystal Cup for their own “evil” purposes.

To increase the interactivity, guests can unlock additional features and try to beat their score with every ride.

Earlier this year, Hersheyparkpresented a development plan for a 23 acre expansion. Slated to open in 2020 the plan includes extensive improvements for the Pennsylvania park butkeeps fans guessing on new rides and attractions.

Hersheypark was built as a leisure park for employees of the chocolate company in 1905 and is now a Top 20 rated US theme park that covers 121 acres, including ZooAmerica which stretches over 11 acres.
