News
Ted Jake Mccoy

The new director brings sector knowledge and experience to the company

ted, an AV, fitness and custom merchandise company, has announced the expansion of its European-based leadership team with a new director of operations.

Jake McCoy will join the firm’s UK office following a transition from RWS Entertainment Group, ted’s parent company. The subsidiary currently operates across fifty countries, with offices in four of these.

ted was acquired earlier this year, joining international design firms JRA and Binder Casting to form the world’s most extensive, full-service provider of experiences for venues and visitor attractions and experiences.

Together, these teams work to produce full-circle experience design, fabrication, installation and operations for some of the world’s top leisure clients.

“With global operating success and unmatched experience creating and delivering multi-dimensional live entertainment and experiences for cruise, resort, theme park and client McCoy [will] broaden ted’s portfolio to include immersive seasonal and Holiday events.” says the firm.

“His operational mindset and technical execution skills add efficiency and attention to detail to corporate, consumer, non-profit, cruise line and theme park events.”

Career to date

McCoy started his industry career by graduating early from Creighton University’s Theatrical Design and Technology program. He then moved to New York City after securing a leadership role with Broadway Dreams Foundation following a stint as production manager.

McCoy progressed to work on production teams including Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas is You, before joining RWS Entertainment Group seven years ago. McCoy’s breadth of experience, including talent and operations management, video coordination and performer safety, gives him the knowledge to continue creating interactive and immersive experiences with multi-sensory entertainment.

“We are thrilled that he now calls the UK home and will be expanding our amazing events and entertainment to include new Halloween and Holiday immersive experiences. Jake will also play a tremendous role in creating efficiencies that benefit our clients and our partners.”

RWS is also currently recruiting for other positions, with further details on the firm’s website.

Keith James, president of JRA – part of RWS Entertainment Group, recently participated in a session at TEA SATE Europe 2022, detailing more than five decades in the attractions industry.
