The UK’s Scare City horror experience is returning to the abandoned Camelot theme park in Lancashire for Halloween 2023.
Last year, Scare City took over the old theme park for a terrifying experience with live actors, detailed sets, atmospheric sounds and a spine-chilling setting.
The eerie event is back for 2023 with a new route that unveils previously unexplored areas of the park and includes new scare zones and mazes.
“If you think you know Scare City, think again,” said Paul Butterworth, the event’s operations director.

“We’re back with a bang this year, and our team are already plotting ways to make even the bravest of souls quake in their boots.
“We’ve taken on board all the feedback from last year and as a result, our route has been completely refreshed, letting us utilise never-seen-before areas of the park.”
Per a press release, this year’s Scare City experience will be bigger, better and bloodier than ever before.
Visitors will be immersed in a realistic horror experience as they travel through the deserted theme park, which closed in 2012.
“Scare City 2023 is going to be our best yet, and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve come up with,” Butterworth added.

In more spooky news, Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights is returning to Universal Studios Florida for a record-breaking 44 nights on 1 September.
Elsewhere, Universal Parks & Resorts is launching a new year-round horror attraction at AREA15 in Las Vegas.
In an exclusive interview with blooloop, AREA15’s CEO Winston Fisher said the attraction is going to be “badass” and will have guests “smiling and screaming”.
Page Thompson, the president of new ventures for Universal Parks & Resorts, said the project is due to a “growing demand” for horror-themed immersive experiences.
