Ghibli Park, the first-ever theme park dedicated to animation company Studio Ghibli, will limit daily attendance within each of its themed lands.
The first themed lands – Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, Dondoko Forest and Hill of Youth – are due to open on 1 November 2022. Mononoke Village and Valley of Witches will open in fall 2023 and March 2024.
Each immersive land requires its own ticket and attendance will be capped (via Aichi Prefecture and SoraNews24).
Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse will admit 4,000 visitors on weekends and holidays, with the number dropping to 3,500 guests on weekdays.

Hill of Youth will allow 900 daily visitors on weekends and holidays, and just 780 guests on weekdays. Dondoko Forest will welcome a total of 750 people per day on weekends and holidays, and 650 guests on weekdays.
The park’s strict attendance limits are seemingly designed to improve the guest experience, and to protect the park and its environment. Ticket prices were revealed earlier this year.
Entry to Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse on weekdays will be priced at 2,000 yen ($16) for adults and 1,000 yen ($8) for children aged between four and 12 years old.
On weekends and holidays, entry to Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse will cost 2,500 yen ($19) for adults and 1,250 yen ($10) for children.
Tickets go on sale on 10 August 2022
Tickets to Dondoko Forest and Hill of Youth will be 1,000 yen ($8) for adults and 500 yen ($4) for children on weekdays, weekends and holidays.
Ghibli Park is inspired by anime classics such as My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, and Princess Mononoke.
Highlights include a redesigned Catbus and a replica of Satsuki and Mei’s house within the My Neighbor Totoro-themed playground.
The first tickets to Ghibli Park will be going on sale on 10 August 2022 through online ticketing service Boo-Woo Ticket.
