Interactive Sunkid Tower is latest family ride for California beachside venue

Sunkid, a leading provider of attractions for the whole family, has announced that it has brought its popular Sunkid Tower attraction to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, California, where it operates under the name Lighthouse Lift-Off.

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk has been entertaining visitors since 1907 with a wide range of rides in a beachside setting. This month, it has added a new family-friendly attraction, thanks to Sunkid.

The interactive Sunkid Tower is one of the company’s classic attractions, which has been installed over 110 times and is popular with families around the world.

While riding, visitors can pull a rope to move their double seat upwards, with motorised assistance, and can also let it fall again gently, by releasing the rope. This means they can decide how high they wish to go or can go up and down during the ride, enjoying a panoramic view as the Sunkid Tower rotates around its own axis.

Echoing a traditional lighthouse, the ride features a red and white colour scheme as well as a large beacon house on top, making it an ideal choice for this beachside location.

Speaking about the new attraction, Kris Ray, a spokesperson for the venue, says “Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is thrilled to welcome Lighthouse Lift-Off to our lineup of exciting and unique rides. It’s a new and fun experience for our youngest riders, and the lighthouse theme matches our seaside boardwalk perfectly.”

Sunkid has completed over 9000 projects in over 70 countries around the world, bringing quality attractions with reliable service. It is a global market leader for person conveyors for outside use, providing solutions for ski resorts, theme parks, water parks and more. Its portfolio includes the Mountain Coaster, Wood ‘n’ Fun and the Moving Carpet for water parks.
