TAIT, a global leader in the live experience industry, has shared that Craig Hanna has announced his retirement, concluding a remarkable 35-year career that has significantly impacted the fields of location-based entertainment, museums, theme parks, and live experiences.
Hanna, who is celebrated for his exceptional creativity, mentorship, and visionary storytelling, will move into an emeritus advisory role with TAIT, allowing him to explore personal passions and creative projects.
“Craig’s contributions have set a standard for innovation in the experience industry,” says TAIT CEO Adam Davis.
“His work resonates with humanity, creativity, and transformation, inspiring audiences and the teams he mentored. His legacy will leave a lasting imprint on the future of our industry and our creative teams at TAIT.”
An “unwavering commitment to making the impossible possible”
Craig Hanna’s career exemplifies the transformative power of creativity. His journey began with early positions at Iwerks Entertainment and Universal Studios, where he served as the director of attraction development. Later, he co-founded Thinkwell Group, playing a crucial role in the creation of some of the world’s most iconic experiential attractions.
Hanna was the executive creative director of Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, the largest indoor theme park in the world at its launch, and guided the creative development of Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter. Both projects were honoured with Thea Awards for their innovation and excellence.
Joe Zenas, former CEO and partner of Thinkwell Group and now EVP of global development and strategic partnerships at TAIT, says: “Craig’s vision and creativity laid the foundation for everything we achieved at Thinkwell. His initial dream of launching a company with friends to create meaningful, fun projects has grown into a legacy that has touched millions.”
François Bergeron, Thinkwell co-founder and EVP of strategic development and execution at TAIT, adds: “What we built together at Thinkwell is more than a company—and every project and challenge we overcame was a testament to Craig’s talent, hard work, and unwavering commitment to making the impossible possible.”

Hanna’s impact reaches well beyond individual projects. He has been a mentor and leader, guiding numerous creative team members throughout the years and fostering a legacy of talent. His leadership contributions to the industry include his tenure as International President of the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) and the attainment of three patents for his innovative approaches to experience design.
His departure from full-time work isn’t a farewell to the industry he has influenced. In his ongoing position at TAIT, Hanna will continue to provide strategic guidance, ensuring that his vision and legacy remain a vital force in the world of experiential design.
Earlier this year, TAIT announced that TAIT Group companies productionglue and Thinkwell are now operating under a singular TAIT brand identity.
