TEA summit 2022 day one

Association reveals Day One lineup and launches TEA DEI&A and NextGen Scholarships for Day Two

The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), a non-profit representing compelling places and experiences worldwide, is gearing up for the annual TEA Summit, which is to be held at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California from 21 – 22 April 2022. Ahead of the event, it has now revealed more details of the speakers on the bill for Day One.

Day One is all about “What’s Next? Successful Transitions” and will feature a range of experts from across the industry who will give insights on the topic from their own experiences. Speakers include:

  • Ryan Stana – CEO, RWS Entertainment Group
  • Keith James – president, JRA – part of RWS Entertainment Group
  • Allen Boerger – founder/CEO, Roto Group & CEO, Brilliant Fabrication
  • Leo English – VP of customer experience/principle, Brilliant Fabrication

The conversation will be moderated by Christine Kerr, principal, Kerr Creative Company

Looking to the future

Talking about the topic of “What’s next?”, the TEA says “[This] is a question that we’ve been hearing discussions about for many years now, all circling around the future of the businesses we’ve built. What’s the timeline? What are the priorities? What is the process for the owners on both sides of the negotiating table?

“This candid conversation with company leaders recently involved in changes in ownership will explore their journeys to securing the future of their business.”

Scholarships for Day Two

The TEA has also announced that it is now offering TEA DEI&A and NextGen Scholarships, as part of its commitment to further the advancement of diversity, equity and inclusion within the industry. The scholarship covers the cost of registration for one individual to attend the TEA Summit Day Two, as well as the Thea Awards Gala and a travel stipend.

“The TEA DEI&A and NextGen Scholarships are intended to provide support to individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, and/or disabilities as well as NextGens,” says the TEA. “Candidates may be new to the themed entertainment industry or have experience in the field. TEA membership is not required.”

Applicants need to apply by email by April 12th, submitting a short statement (up to 500 words) detailing how their attendance at the event will help to further their career goals and/or what elements of their background influence their perspectives, experiences, and how they positively contribute to the industry.

TEA has also announced speakers for other parts of the event, including Day One keynote presenter Matt Dunsmoor, and Buzz Award winner Doris Hardoon. Earlier this month, it provided details of its speakers for the State of the Industry Roundtable. Forming part of the 2022 TEA Summit, the roundtable will feature eight speakers from the themed entertainment industry.
