Universal Orlando has unveiled several new experiences coming to the resort

Universal Orlando has announced an opening date for its new DreamWorks land, home to attractions and experiences inspired by brands like Shrek, Trolls and Kung Fu Panda.

The DreamWorks land opens to the public on 14 June at Universal Studios Florida. It will house interactive play areas, character meet and greets, a new live show, unique retail and F&B, and a family-friendly coaster.

In the Shrek-themed area, visitors can explore the ogre’s swamp and cottage, enjoy interactive attractions, and meet Shrek, Princess Fiona and Donkey.

In the Trolls-themed area, guests can ride the ‘Trollercoaster’, a Caterbus-style attraction where riders escape evil spiders.

Kung Fu Panda attractions on offer include a Panda Village-style play area, as well as a digital experience.

More highlights in the new DreamWorks land include a multi-sensory attraction in the new DreamWorks Theater called ‘Imagination Celebration’. This combines pop songs, dancing and advanced technology.

As well as the upcoming land, Universal Orlando has unveiled several additional experiences coming to the resort this summer.

These include the ‘Mega Movie Parade’, Universal Orlando’s biggest daytime parade to date, from 3 July at Universal Studios Florida.

Opening on 14 June at Universal Studios Florida is a new nighttime lagoon show called ‘CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular’.

On the same date at Islands of Adventure‘s Hogsmeade, a new nighttime projection show named ‘Hogwarts Always’ will launch.

“We are thrilled to debut an array of never-before-seen experiences for the entire family to enjoy from day to night,” said Karen Irwin, president and chief operating officer of Universal Orlando.

“These new experiences – coupled with the amazing attractions currently in our theme parks – will allow our guests to create lasting memories that will make this summer truly unforgettable.”

In addition to the DreamWorks land, Universal is building a new family-friendly resort in Frisco, Texas.
