Vekoma Rides, the Dutch roller coaster specialist, is celebrating the opening of Cloud Shuttle at the brand-new Xuzhou Fantawild Wonderland theme park in China. This is the first installation of the firm’s Super Boomerang multi-launch coaster.
The Super Boomerang was created to provide a special combination of contemporary thrill ride elements in a small, constrained space. The compact design includes many launch sections, a vertical spike at 52,5 metres in height, a top speed of 95 km/h, a forward-backwards ride, vertical drops, four inversions, and ten airtime elements.
With a rider height restriction of 1.20m, the Super Boomerang takes Vekoma’s popular Boomerang ride to new levels of excitement and thrills to a wider audience.
Thrills in a compact design
Fantawild Wonderland opened to the public on 18 July and is home to eight unique inside themed attractions as well as 30 outdoor activities and more than 200 landscape designs, cafés, and stores. More than three million people each year are anticipated to visit the park.
The 52,5 m-tall tower stands out across the new theme park. The Super Boomerang has a capacity of 800 people per hour using a 6-coach, 24-seat train and Vekoma’s proven MK1101 train system. The car incorporates a flexible vest and lapbar-only restraining system to ensure an unhindered ride. The ride also makes use of the most easily maintained drive technology on the market, the cutting-edge LSM launch system.
Last month, Vekoma Rides brought a new family launch coaster to Furuvik in Sweden. Lightning is the fastest family launch coaster in the world and is also the biggest attraction in the park’s history.
The company will also be providing two new coasters for Ireland’s Emerald Park, which will anchor the new Tír na nÓg land, part of a €22 million investment. Emerald Park reopened on 25 March 2023 for the first time since rebranding and dropping the Tayto Park name.
