Silverwood, the largest theme and waterpark in the Northwest US, boasts over 221 acres of fun, 65 rides, slides, shows and attractions. Located North of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Silverwood Theme Park has four roller coasters, 1 drop tower and many other family rides and attractions. The attraction also includes Boulder Beach Water Park with two large wave pools, water slides, kids’ play areas and VIP cabanas.
The theme park opened in 1988, originally as a museum for vintage planes, trains and automobiles. Founder Gary Norton was initially unsure about how much interest his creation would attract: “If nobody shows, ” he said, “then I’m just going to have a nice little park to play in with my friends.”
25 years later Silverwood Theme Park has welcomed around 8.5 million visitors and regularly attracts over 500, 000 visitors a year.
Silverwood opens to the public on May 5th, with a special ticket price of $19.88 per person to celebrate 25 years since the first season in 1988. The theme park will be open at weekends during May, with daily operation from May 26th.
