On March 26, 2010 all 11 Great Wolf Lodge locations including Ripley’s Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls will participate in an attempt to break a Guinness World’s Record.

The Great Wolf Lodge “World’s Largest Waterslide-athon” will take place over 24 consecutive hours with one designated slide per resort. Each slider will count toward breaking the record.  The current Guinness World Record for this attempt was set in Germany in 2007 with a total distance of 1357 km.  Great Wolf Lodge is working with the Guinness Book of World Records to comply with their rigorous certification standards.

But it’s not just about breaking the record.  Great Wolf Lodge is continuously committed to supporting charities involving children.  In the past, the lodge has donated significant funds to Niagara Children’s Advocacy Center, the Boys and Girls Club of Niagara and Project Share to mention a few.

This event is in support of the five Niagara Region Big Brothers Big Sisters organizations.  Participants in the Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls “World’s Largest Waterslide-athon” will be asked to donate $1 per slide, with proceeds going to the Niagara Region Big Brothers Big Sisters organizations. Great Wolf Resorts corporate office will be matching each donation across all 11 lodges up to $50, 000.

In addition, Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls will be matching each donation made in Niagara up to $5, 000.  All funds raised and matched in Niagara will be donated to the local Big Brother Big Sister organizations.

“Join us at Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls for Fun in Fundraising as we splash our way to a Guinness World Record as we support Big Brothers Big Sisters. Great Wolf Lodge is proud to be offering this exciting community event at our wonderful waterpark.  We invite any and all groups, teams and clubs to join the pack in this worthy cause for one of our communities’ most important organizations, ” says Keith Simmonds, General Manager of the lodge.

All rider names will be entered into a number of exciting draws, including a chance to WIN A FREE NIGHT STAY INCLUDING MEALS FOR 4, SCOOPS KIDS SPA AND LOTS OF OTHER GOODIES.
