American Wave Machines, a leading wave pool, surf park and wave technology company, has been given approval for two new PerfectSwell projects in the US.

American Wave Machines, Inc. has pleased announced that two new PerfectSwell projects were approved on the same day.

The Thermal Beach Club in the Palm Springs area was unanimously approved by the Riverside County Board of Supervisors, while the New Smyrna Beach Commissioners approved the addition of a PerfectSwell wave pool to the master development agreement for the Ocean Gate Commerce Center in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

In the video (above), professional surfers Eric & Evan Geiselman and Rob Kelly discuss the benefits of PerfectSwell technology and highlight how its consistent repetitions can help surfers to train and improve.

On-demand surf

The Thermal Beach Club, which is set within 240 acres of Kohl Ranch land near the West Coast, in the Palm Springs area, will be able to offer on-demand surfing for both recreational and competitive surfing, thanks to American Wave Machines’ PerfectSwell technology. Here, guests will be able to enjoy beachfront living with desert surroundings.

“We’re thrilled to work with AWM and offer perfect conditions in an ocean-like environment with continuous days of desert sunshine and a safe beach experience,” says Brian Grantham, Whitestar Development. “We’re proud that Thermal Beach Club will bring jobs, tax revenue, and the ability to create a robust infrastructure for the area.”

Meanwhile, plans for Ocean Gate, a 180-acre multi-use commercial development project on the I-95 corridor in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, now include a PerfectSwell wave pool. Located in New Smyrna Beach, the fifth-best surfing town in the US, the development will be home to hotels, restaurants and sports entertainment. Its proximity to the world’s best water sports destinations will make it the #1 surf location on the East Coast.

“Two project approvals on the same day speaks loudly and clearly about the dominance of PerfectSwell in the space of out-of-ocean surfing,” says Mike Lopez, project developer and AWM Senior VP.  “With projects in Brazil and Japan coming online in 2021, California and Florida not far behind, PerfectSwell will be located in the global drivers of surfing and surf culture. Australia next.”

Earlier this year, American Wave Machines announced that it has joined forces with licensed partner JHSF to bring PerfectSwell technology to the Boa Vista Village Project in Brazil.

American Wave Machines also installed a PerfectSwell pool at the DreamWorks Water Park at American Dream in New Jersey.
