Aroya sets sail from Jeddah this month

Aroya Cruises, the first Arabian cruise line, has unveiled some of the dining experiences aboard its first ship Aroya, which embarks on its maiden voyage this month.

First announced in June 2023, Aroya Cruises is a separate business unit of Cruise Saudi, a PIF company. It was launched as part of Saudi Arabia’s plan to become an international tourism destination.

As above, Aroya is the first ship in the fleet and will feature 1,678 cabins, 20 entertainment venues, 29 restaurants, lounges and cafes, and a wellness centre across 18 decks.

The ship’s restaurants include Irth, billed as the first Saudi Arabian restaurant at sea. This will serve traditional dishes such as jareesh, haneeth and saleeg, as well as local breads and Saudi coffee.

La Tavola is an Italian restaurant serving pasta, risotto and salad, while the Fish Market is a seafood restaurant. Bamboo Kitchen is the ship’s signature Asian restaurant.

For themed F&B, guests can visit the interactive Space Diner, inspired by the Saudi Space Agency’s Human Space Flight programme and serving American-style fast food.

As for lounges, Al Matal is an all-day venue offering ocean views, and Legends Sports Lounge is a sports bar providing the first charcoal shishas on a cruise ship.

Exclusive to guests who book Aroya’s luxury Khuzama experience are the Khuzama Restaurant for Saudi and French cuisine, and the Khuzama Lounge.

Aroya sets sail on 16 December from Jeddah with a three-night voyage that includes a visit to a Red Sea private island.

The ship’s entertainment venues include a theatre, karaoke room, climbing wall and mini golf course, as well as two swimming pools, and the largest retail area on any cruise ship in the world.

In more cruise news, Disney Cruise Line‘s new ship recently sailed into Port Canaveral in Florida for the first time. The Disney Treasure’s maiden voyage is set for 21 December.
